The ‘Blackrock Playground Project’ was started by a voluntary group of local residents who have a shared aim in securing a playground for the Blackrock Village area.

Our local area is populated by hundreds of young families and the village centre attracts thousands of visitors from across the city and county each year to our weekly farmers market on Sundays. To our mind, a dedicated play area is the outstanding feature to fully establish Blackrock village as a focal point for the surrounding community, ensuring the availability of amenities for all generations of residents.

The total cost if the playground development has been priced at €120,000 and this will need to be sourced through local funding.

How can you help?

Given the very high fundraising target, our success is dependent on corporate sponsorship in the first instance. Once a firm foundation of sponsorship has been received, we will look to the local community to support us in reaching our final target.
